In physical form and through one of our most personal projects of 2021, we wanted to wish our community a great start to the new year. Item 01 is a piece created for our clients, friends and acquaintances, those with whom we want to share our time.
Printed in a broadsheet newspaper format, we wanted to connect with our circle through something physical, using ink and recycled paper. An ‘everyday’ object such as a newspaper, which can have an enduring or a momentary life, depending on how each different person sees it. It can be read one day and discarded the next, passed on to others who can discover it, keep it, use it to write their notes, to draw, to light a fire in winter, to keep in an office drawer, to give to an acquaintance who doesn’t know us yet, to cut out and collage, to doodle on while chatting on the phone, to fold, to fan, to wrap a gift or cover a book, to ripen tomatoes, to clean windows, to dry a floor, to protect treasured objects.
