As a starting point, the project focuses on the series of works by the artist, Constel·lacions. Twenty-three paintings started in 1939 in Varengeville-sur-mer and finished in 1941 between Mallorca and Montroig.

In ‘Constel·lacions’ we find traces that search for the essence of colours, the link between people and objects and the feelings that are evoked. In this way, the aim of the proposal is to create spaces for celebration. Spaces where the protagonists are all the people, els Amics and Mecenas of the museum, responsible for giving life to the artist’s works.

So, the will of the project seeks to create an ad hoc, ephemeral and scalable spatial design, located in different spaces of the significant building. A work of rationalist structure of the city of Barcelona, designed by the architect Josep Lluís Sert, urban planner and great friend of Joan Miró. Thus, two memorable, warm and close evenings are created. One, dedicated to the els Mecenas and the other to the els Amics de la Fundació Joan Miró. In them, it’s played repetitively with the red thread, joining sets of chairs with the will to create constellations both inside the building and in the courtyard of the Garrofer. Constellations that bring together and invite diners to engage in conversations, experiences and dialogues.

The light of the space is modified using earth-tone candles and Santa & Colelighting. The furniture focuses on popular chairs characteristic of the artist’s studios and sculptures. In turn, tables from Mobles 114 are used as welcome desks. Also selected carpets by Nanimarquina and the placement of those in chromatic tile or blue tones, a base is built for the set of objects within the space. All this, with the will to unite each of the elements and be able to represent the colors of Joan Miró’s Christmas. A design integrated with the museum’s brand and personality. With the aim of generating synergies between other brands in the city of Barcelona, people and objects that can be part of the universe of Miró, seeking comfort, reunion and the exchange of stories and new prosperous experiences for the future of the Fundació Joan Miró.

Client
Fundació Joan Miró de Barcelona

Credits
Participating brands: Mobles 114, Nanimarquina and Santa & Cole.
Photography by Leo García Mendez and own ones.

Speacial thanks to Sandra Moreno and Lluís Carreras.

Creative proposal to represent Christmas celebration at Fundació Joan Miró.
