Representing days of celebrations in a very special house in Cadaqués, on the Costa Brava, designed by Correa Milá Arquitectos in 1963 for the Rumeu family.
Inside we were touched by the light that united us. The light that spoke to us, telling us things, beckoning us to observe and read it so we may realise its purpose: to define the objects that surround us, giving meaning and coherence to spaces, and helping us find comfort within them.
We want to spend time around the table, illuminateed by the lamps and candles of Santa & Cole. For the days of celebration with friends and family, for those good times together we sat at a well-lit table. A table that is built or deconstructed over again, as the hours go by. For sharing conversations, laughter and moments of enjoyment that enrich our lives.
We miss Vinçon. Our favourite shop that held a special place in our hearts.
Fernando Amat described the process of selection – of distinction – as something that is not always rational: ‘When making the choice, it is easier if you simply follow what your heart tells you. It’s like when you go to a museum. You walk very fast and suddenly, your heart stops in front of a painting. Your body is wanting to tell you something.’
In carrying out this project for Santa & Cole we were guided by this process described by Fernando Amat. The brand’s product collection has a very special quality, when you place it in a space, being a product of a different style, format, function, author, light or colour, each one generates a very special set with a visual richness that makes you want to possess them, but there is always one that looks better than the others. That is the one we chose to give away. La Vita by Marre Moerel.
